A late long ball from one of Coton Sport’s midfielders saw Bamboutos FC defence stand still as they were all aware their goalkeeper will perfectly save the ball that was in the air and in slow motion. Unfortunately the goalkeeper made blunders leading to a rebound on the body of Souaibou Marou who calmly collected the ball and scored into the empty net sending a thunderous message to Cameroonian football fans that SOYA will ALWAYS be KING in Cameroon ahead of PEAR as the Bamboutos FC players cry and grind their teeth.
Coton Sport now has seven (7) Cameroon cups and they are second to only Canon sportive of Yaoundé who has eleven (11).
Coton Sport’s win today means that they have won the Cameroon football double (Cameroon MTN Elite One and the Cameroon Cup).
Coton Sport will therefor play Cameroon Cup runner up, Bamboutos FC on the 22nd of October to decide the winner of the Cameroon Super Cup (trophee des champions).
It should be noted that this is Bamboutos FC’s second defeat in a Cameroon Cup finals. the first of which came as far back as 2016 as they lost 2-0 to APEJES Academy.
The most popular club (Bamboutos FC) in Cameroon will have to try another time. We wish them good luck.
