Football Rankings: Power ranking every single Cameroon players in the world of football so far this 2021-2022 club football season

The 2021/2022 football season is finally nearing its end in Europe’s major leagues in few days time and few weeks time in other parts of the world.

There have been some stand-out Cameroonian performers this season. This season has been one of the best seasons so far for many Cameroonian footballers in recent years as some even went on to lay their hands on a trophy.

Players like Nouhou Tolo, Jean Castelletto, Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting, Joel Matip (still to retire from the national team) have already won a trophy at their respective clubs.

Before the season ends completely, BraggsSports has decided to rank the top 10 Cameroonian players in the soon to be concluded 2021-2022 football seasons of various leagues.

It should not come as a surprise that not all the players ply their trade from European Leagues as some come from Asian and African Leagues.

Ranking Cameroon players in football so far this 2021-2022 season

10. Nouhou Tolo (Seattle Sounders FC, USA)

The Cameroon defensive rock is becoming a regular for the Major League League Soccer side since returning from AFCON 2021 campaign. He has already featured in 7 MLS games so far starting 5 out of 7. Nouhou Tolo has already won the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League with Seattle Sounders FC.

9. Collins Fai (AL Tai, Saudi Arabian)

Fai Collins has been a pivotal to Al Tai’s form. The team has not lost any of the five games in which Fai Collins has featured in out of the possible 8 games. Rock solid going forward as well as defensively, there is none like a fit Fai Collins as he already provided 1 assist with multiple line breaking opposition buildup plays.

8. Jean Castelletto (FC Nantes, France)

Rock solid at the back, without Castelletto this season, Nantes would have been in chaos. Castelletto has featured in 26 league 1 games so far for Nantes scoring ones with much of his missed games due to injuries. The Indomitable Lions defender already has the French Cup to his name this season. He has helped Nantes to currently be in the 8th position while being the 7th team with lesser goals conceded so far.

7. Leandre Tawamba (Al-Taawoun FC, Saudi Arabian)

The man marshalling the attack in his team, a goal machine in the making. In 27 appearances for Al-Taawoun, Leandre Tawamba has netted 16 times while providing 2 assist in the process.

6. Franck Zambo Anguissa (Napoli, Italy)

There is no denying to the fact that injuries has downgraded the supposed Cameroon current best player this season. despite not featuring in many of Napoli’s season  matches, in the 23 games Zambo Anguissa has featured in, he has been pivotal in all of them whether win, lose or draw. The Napoli midfielder dynamo is a true epitome of a midfield power house, excellent driving forward, ball control, ball retention and tackling skills in the middle of the park. Zambo has one assist to his name this season.

5. Vincent Aboubakar (Al-NASSR FC, Saudi Arabian)

The AFCON 2021 goal machine is here again. Despite not being fit enough since after the AFCON, Vincent Aboubakar has featured in 22 of Al-NASSR FC matches scoring 8 times while assisting 4 times. Vincent has helped his team to currently be seated in the 3th position with even more chance of finishing second and a minor chance of winning the league.

4. Moumi Ngamaleu (Young Boys, Switzerland)

Master of all dribbles, running down the flanks, breaking in between lines and creating chances for his strikers, this is who Ngamaleu is. Ngamaleu has been pivotal in Young Boys campaign so far this season and has featured in 43 of their games scoring 6 times and assisting 10 times with one goal and an assist coming in the Champions league group games. He scored the second goal as Young boys crushed Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United 2-1. He has not missed any game for Young Boys is not being suspended for multiple yellow cards in a row or called up for the national team.

3. Michael Ngadeu (KAA Gent, Belgium)

The 31 years old Indomitable Lions of Cameroon Centre back is developing in a peak Centre back in Belgium. Michael Ngadeu has already featured in 32 of Gents 2021-2022 matches starting almost all except in one occasion. He is featured in 28 out of 34 leagues games with the missed games coming as a result of injuries. Find yourself a defender who tries to help the team by scoring 3 goals and assisting once like Michael Ngadeu does. Much thanks to Ngadeu’s defensive attributes, Gent currently stand 5th in the Belgian Pro League while being only the second team to concede lesser goals.  The Cameroonian international has already been nominated for the Best African Player in Belgium this 2021-2022 season.

2. Mbella Franck Etouga (Asante Kotoko, Ghana)

The name no one expected in this list, Mbella Franck Etouga is the new name in town. The 21 years old Cameroonian forward plies his trade with Ghana Porcupine side Asante Kotoko. Mbella Franck Etouga  has massively helped the Porcupine to be seated comfortably at the top of the Ghana Premier League table with 56 points seconded by Bechem United with 47 points thanks to his thrilling 19 goals and 2 assist in the campaign with just 6 games left to be played. Thanks to his masterclass performance so far this season, Mbella Franck Etouga has been called up to the national squad by coach Rogobert Song for Cameroon’s AFCON 2023 qualifiers against Kenya and Burundi on 4 and 8 June respectively. B=Franck Etouga i =s currently trending in the transfer market in Spain, Italy as well as Germany with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid being the destination for the striker.

1. Karl toko Ekambi (Ol Lyon, France)

The number 1 spot in our Ranking Cameroon players in football so far this season is won by Lyon talisman Karl Toko Ekambi. Karl hasn’t dared to sleep since the season started. He is evolvedT from a dribbler creating chances to a line breaking passer to a striker all so in a season. With 28 games in Ligue 1 Karl Toko has scored 12 times and assisting 5 times while also helping Lyon by scoring 6 times and assisting twice in 10 appearances in an almost joyful Europa league campaign that came to an end in the quarter finals as West Ham over shadowed them.
