Complete List of African Referees Selected for 2022 FIFA World Cup.

As the world cup approaches, just few days after FIFA released the draws for the World cup group stages, the governing football board has has now released a list for selected referees with 8 coming from the African Continent.

The Gambian referee Papa Bakary Gassama  who made headlines after Cameroon knocked out Algeria in the playoffs for poor officiating has once again made the list.

Papa Bakary Gassama has been known for his match officiating consistency since 2017 together with Tesssema Balmak and they aren’t slowing down. This could sum up their call-up.

• Redouane Jiyed (Morocco)

• Papa Bakary Gassama (Gambia)

• Tesssema Balmak (Ethiopia)

• Victor Gomez (South Africa)
