Football Stadiums: Here is the list of all the Stadiums in Ivory Coast to host the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023
Ivory Coast will be the host of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). Taking into account the requirements of Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards, Ivory Coast is working towards providing six (6) standout international stadiums for the upcoming AFCON 2023. Five cities will host the AFCON 2023 with the economic capital city Abidjan having two of the six stadiums. The other cities include Bouake, San Pedro, Yamoussoukro, and Korhogo.
1. Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium
The “Felicia” is the oldest stadium in the country. It is located in the heart of Abidjan, the economic capital, in the city of Plateau. It was first called Stade Géo André and after the country gained her independence, it was later completely renovated and renamed Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in honor of their former president. The stadium is said to be capable to host football, Rugby, Athletics and many other sports.
2. Ébimpé Olympic Stadium
It is the largest stadium in the country with 60,000 seats and all the stands are covered. With a natural grass pitch. A first class stadium built through Ivory Coast cooperation with China. Build with a cost of $257 million. This stadium is located precisely in the city of Anyama, about 10 kilometers north of the economic capital Abidjan. $257 million. The stadium is said to be capable to host football, Rugby, Athletics and many other sports.
3. Peace Stadium, BOUAKÉ
It was built for AFCON 1984. With a view to AFCON 2023 and CAF standards, the 35,000 seats capacity stadium could be renovated carry up to 40,000 seats. It’s lawn is made of natural grass with all its stands covered. The stadium is mainly use for football matches.
4. Yamoussoukro Stadium
The Yamoussoukro Stadium which is located in the capital city of Ivory coast has capacity of 20000 seats. The Stadium is currently under renovation, It’s lawn is made of natural grass with all its stands covered. Though use for international matches, the stadium also Ivory cost Ligue 1 games.

5. San Pedro Stadium
City: SAN PEDRO
The San Pedro stadium with is currently under construction will have a capacity of 20000 seats. It is located south west of Ivory Coast and it is mainly for football related activities. It’s lawn is made of natural grass with all its stands covered.
6. Korhogo Stadium
It will have a seating capacity of 20,000 people. It’s lawn is made of natural grass with all its stands covered. The stadium is expected to host many matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
