Samuel Eto’o Fils, Geremi Njitap, Rigobert Song have all made over 100 caps for Cameroon but Who is Cameroon’s greatest centurion?
This is a rare occurrence in Cameroon and having this in mind, BraggsSports compiles the few examples from the country.
In the history of national football, only three indomitable Lions have ever made 100 or more caps for Cameroon which are Samuel Eto’o Fils, Geremi Njitap, Rigobert Song.
Samuel Eto’o last featured for Cameroon national football team in 2014 world cup against Brazil which saw them bow out of the competition with zero points after 4-1 (Joel Matip being the only scorer) defeat by Brazil.
On the other hand, Rigobert Song and Geremi Njitap last featured for the Indomitable Lions on the 24th of June 2010 in a 2-1 defeat to Netherlands (Eto’o being the only scorer) in the 2010 World Cup hosted by South Africa which saw Cameroon return home with zero points from their group.
It should be noted that these three players came and played in the Cameroon national team in the same era where to make the starting spot in the Cameroon national team was never an easy job for any footballer as there were handful of talents and superstars back then. This illustrates how good these players were in the various positions.
During their time in office, Cameroon won a handful of trophies including African Nations Cups, Olympic Gold medal, Confederations Cup etc.
As a result, BraggsSports is asking her readers which of the three players is the greatest Indomitable Lion to have played a hundred or more games for Cameroon?
NB: Keep Club Football aside.
