Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento has explained the reason behind his delay in returning from Brazil for the club’s preseason

Sundowns reassembled for their preparations for the 2021/22 season about three weeks ago, with Ricardo Nascimento’s absence raising speculation over his future at Chloorkop.

The 34-year-old centre-back has since assured The Brazilians faithful that he will be returning to the club next month.

“I had family problems in Brazil. I asked Sundowns for one more month to solve them. [I am coming back] next month,” Ricardo Nascimento tells [unknow source] from Brazil.
As earlier reported, Nascimento underwent surgery at the end of last season and has been going through rehabilitation back home.
“I am training here to get ready for the new season,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana defender Sifiso Ngobeni has reported for duty ahead of Downs’ trip to Limpopo to continue their pre-season camp.

Ngobeni, who signed a five-year deal from Bloemfontein Celtic, was given a few days off after helping South Africa to the Cosafa Cup crown, alongside teammates Siphelele Mkhulise, Rushine De Reuck, Lebohang Maboe and Nyiko Mobbie.
