I did some research into who is the highest paid in Nigeria League, and I came up with the following data which i am to put up in this piece of article.

The Nigerian Football League is one of the most popular leagues in Africa which is mostly due to the fact that a considerable number of Nigerians love and live for the game of football.

In the past, the Nigerian Football League had promised nothing good with stories of unpaid salaries, poor funding, and poor welfare for the players and several other problems that plagued the league.

However, there has been a rise in popularity and professionalism in the league due to the presence of several high profile sponsors.

This has led to an increase in the respect accorded to players in the league and also a rise in their earnings.

1. Theophilus Afelokhai – Rivers United (1.2 Million Naira)

Theophilus Afelokhai is Nigerian Professional Football League most paid player in the wake of getting paperwork done for Rivers United where he procures ₦1.2 million monthly. The 32-year-old footballer won the NPFL with Kano Pillars and Enyimba and this has motivated his signing to the southern club. The centre back was bought by Rivers United a year ago having gone through six years at Enyimba where he won two NPFL titles, the remainder of which he lifted as the captain of the Aba Elephants.

4. Gambo Mohammed – Kano Pillars (850,000 Thousand Naira)

Gambo Mohammed plays as a centre back for Kano Pillars. Despite usually called up for National duties, he has failed to establish himself in the national team even though he has been doing well at club level.

The 24 years old Tosin Omoyele is one of the highest paid players in the competition. With his salary of ₦700,000, the footballer has made enough to earn this spot as one of the richest in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
