Kaizer Chiefs’ coach Stuart Baxter wants Kaizer Chiefs to sign more players ahead of their return to the DSTv Premier Soccer League

Stuart Baxter has opened up on the difficult task of signing more players for Kaizer Chiefs.
The Glamour Boys [Kaizer Chiefs], who lost the CAF Champions League final 3-0 to Al Ahly on Saturday, have already announced the signings of Brandon Peterson, Sifiso Hlanti, Phathutshedzo Nange, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sibusiso Mabiliso and Kgaogelo Sekgota, while Given Thibedi has been recalled from his loan.

However, Stuart Baxter has insisted there is a gap between Amakhosi and the best teams in the country right now and Kaizer Chiefs will need to sort out more signings quickly because they have little time to prepare for the new campaign.

In an interview on iDiski Tv, here is what Stuart Baxter has to say;

“I think we’ve got to do a proper debrief of the game. The players have got to do a proper debrief individually of their experiences for the whole journey,” he told the club’s media department.

“We’ve got to look, we’ve got to say, well, where are we? Where are we deficient? And what is the reason that the team couldn’t win tonight? And why? What’s the reason that the team only just scraped into the top eight? So where are we, where are we lacking?
“The problem we’ve got is that we don’t have time because we’ve had such a good run in the in CAF (Champions League). We don’t have a lot of time to prepare, even if we do get new players in.
“So it’s a little bit of a conundrum for us. Now, how many do you bring in? How quickly can you do it? And how much time do you have to turn that into a fighting unit.
“This is as we’ve seen with the with the capitals, it is going to be a work in progress for for a while. So we need to get back to the drawing board very quickly.

“Take heart from the fact that we’ve done so well in the in CAF, realize that we’ve got a little bit to go because there is a gap between the absolute top and where we are at the moment.”
