Earlier on Thursday at a restaurant in Barcelona, Joan Laporta met with Ronald Koeman to discuss his future as well as Barca’s team future
On The Barca’s Team System
Summit between Laporta, Yuste and Koeman; they met in good harmony in a Barcelona restaurant and the president wants a more offensive style of football.
Laporta has asked Koeman for more offensive football, as the club does not like the 3-5-2 system that has been imposed in the last three to four months as a default set-up.
On Ronald Koeman’s Future
Ronald Koeman feels strong to continue. He believes that what he has done is not valued considering from where the team has come from since August. He considers himself qualified to lead the changes necessary at Barcelona.
However, Laporta has ruled out all discussions patterning to Koeman’s future at Barca until the end of the season. Also Barca has shortlisted Jürgen Klopp and Garcia Pimienta as the potential names to replace Ronald Koeman if need be.
Aguero to Barca is a Done Deal
Barcelona are fine with the signing of Sergio Agüero. Despite his age (33), the club value his goal scoring abilities, experience and his closeness to Lionel Messi.
At the Camp Nou they welcome the arrival of Agüero, whose environment has already made the club know of his full availability to share a dressing room on a daily basis with his friend Lionel Messi.
An initial agreement has been reached when the Argentine offered himself to the club’s technical secretariat and also to Laporta’s candidacy. In recent days there have been more contacts with the club. In England, he receives about 12 million euros in salary but he is willing to lower his salary in order to returning to the Spanish La Liga.
The interests of both the club and the player intersect with the addition of the fact that the arrival of Agüero would be key for the continuity of Messi at Barcelona.
At Barça it is considered that, despite the fact that Agüero has not had regularity due to injuries in the last two seasons and has only been able to play 11 league games this season, it is still a goal guarantee that can be very useful for the highest level.
The signing of Sergio Agüero by Barcelona could be closed in the coming days
Lionel Messi’s contract renewal with Barcelona could take a long time. It’s not ruled out that he’ll travel to play in the Copa América without renewing. He wants to know not both the economic offer and sporting project.
The possible signing of Memphis Depay also remains open, it’s believed that his versatility can be a great asset to the team.
However, as Barcelona is negotiating over Depay and Aguero, it should bee noted that Depay is Koeman’s request, and Aguero is Laporta’s signing. Another player with a young profile -like Isak, Darwin Núñez, and Gerard Moreno- is also on the radar.
Barca’s team Future – Transfer Rumours
Barça is planning a great remodeling and plans to undergo up to 14 sale operations.
There are names such Coutinho, Umtiti, Pjanić, Braithwaite, Junior, Neto, Matheus and there could be some ‘heavyweights’ too.
Rigue Puig to stay at Barca
The club is counting on Riqui Puig for the next season. Barcelona is NOT planning on selling him this summer, regardless of whether Koeman stays or not. The club has a lot of confidence in Riqui’s potential and the sporting area doesn’t understand why he hasn’t featured more this season.
Real Betis’ Emerson Royal to Barca
Emerson Royal has a place at Barcelona on the right side of the defense.
He has many suitors but with Dest being young and inconsistent and Sergi Roberto having a bad season with injuries and form Barça could keep Emerson.
To help reduce the wage bill, Barça will listen to offers for Sergi Roberto, Trinçao, Griezmann and Dembélé. Griezmann is the least likely to leave, as his massive salary puts off any teams interested in his signing. If Dembélé does not renew, he’ll be sold.
