Premier League giants Manchester City have extended their first team coach Pep Guardiola’s contract until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Manchester City has confirmed that Pep Guardiola has penned down a new contract with the Premier League club keeping at the club untill June 2023.
Guardiola’s deal was due to expire at the end of this season. However Man City announced on Thursday 19, 2020 that he has agreed to prolong his stay by another two years.
Since replacing Manuel Pellegrini in 2016 from Bayern Munich, Pep has helped man City to a double Premier League triumph.
In an interview with Man City’s Chairman Khaldoon Mubarak, he said: “Pep’s contract extension is the natural next step in a journey which has evolved over many years.”
“It is a product of the mutual trust and respect that exists between him and the entire club.”
Pep has a Man City win ratio of 73.87% in the 245 games his has managed for the club so far. The former Bayern coach has won Eight (8) trophies for the Citizens.
Pep’s Statement goes by; “I have everything i could possibly want to do my job well and i am humbled by the confidence the owner, chairman, Ferran and Txiki have shown in me to continue for two more years after this season.”
