Premier League: Ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Leicester City this week end, Liverpool’s injury list worsens as Rhys joins the rest.

Despite the massive number of first team players already out of Klopp’s starting eleven, the injury list seems to be non stop as young defender Rhys Williams joins the list.

Rhys Williams did not take part in the England under-21s’ 5-0 win over Albania on Tuesday, with the centre-back returning to Liverpool with a “very minor” hip problem.

England under 21 manager Aidy Boothroyd confirmed after the game that it is “very minor” and the decision was made that it would be “in his best interests to get him back to Liverpool.”

“With all the players, if there’s any potential injuries or niggles then our medical staff is in contact with the club,” he explained.

“Rhys wasn’t actually on the bench so I thought the best thing was to get him back to Liverpool.”

Rhys’ injury is the latest after Joe Gomez and Henderson with the  England National team. While also Mohamed Salah has been confirmed Covid-19 positive for the second time running while on international duties with Egypt.

Rhys (19) is expected to feature heavily for Liverpool alongside Joel Matip and Nat Phillips against Leicester on Sunday, Atalanta in the Champions League on November 25th and then Brighton and Hove Albion.
