Cameroon international and SCO Angers striker, Stephane Bahoken to be sentenced to prison for domestic violence and dangerous driving.
Bahoken, 28 years old Cameroonian international is going through tough times. Stephane Bahoken has been charged for domestic violence and reckless driving.
The SCO Angers striker was in court on Wednesday 28, October to answer charges of domestic violence on his partner and dangerous driving. Bakohen pleaded guilty for both offences.
According to France Football, Bahoken has been sentenced to four months in jail.However, However, France Football reports that Bahoken will be released soon but he has been sentenced to four months suspended imprisonment with a financial penalty of €2000 (Over 1.3 Million CFA)
In August this year, Bahoken was reported to have been involved in a confrontation with police officers in Angers after repeatedly refusing to stop his car and overtaking recklessly though he had been signal to stop doing so.
According to Ouest-France, the Cameroonian striker was expected in court in December for the August incident in the ring road of Angers.
France Football reports that, the case has also been looked into and he has been handed a three months suspended prison sentence plus a fine of €6,875 (Over 4.5 Million CFA).
Bahoken was signed from French side Strasbourg in 2018 in a four years deal as a replacement for Toko Ekambi who left Angers for Villareal before signing back for Ligue one side Lyon.
Bahoken still has 2 years left in his contract with Angers. He has scored 18 goals in 57 games.
Bahoken who is a son of former Indomitable Lion Paul Bahoken could see his position in the National team compromised amidst his situation. The Indomitable Lions will be playing a double AFCON qualification confrontation match against Mozambique scheduled for the 12th and 16th of November, 2020.
Cameroon however is the host of the AFCON 2022 tournament.
