Ole G. Solskjær on why Anthony Martial took the penalty in their 5-0 demolition of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Manchester United trashed RB Leipzig 5-0 yesterday at Old Trafford.
Manchester United first came to life when Mason Greenwood (UCL debut boy) scored the opener in the 21st minute from a Paul Pogba master-class pass. The first half of the game ended with Ole G. Solskjær’s men 10 up.
Marcus Rashford who came in as a substitute in the 63 minute for Mason Greenwood scored a hattrick. An assist from both Bruno Fernandez and Anthony Martial as well as an individual brilliance helped the English man win the ball of the match.
However, Martial was the one who scored the fourth goal from the penalty spot.
Ole G. Solskjær on why Martial took the penalty vs Leipzig:
“Before the game i said Antho [Anthony Martial] was ging to take that pen [penalty] and that’s it. If you look at the starting squad, it was either Antho [Martial] or Paul to take it and Paul was taken off”.
